Simon Mattsson
Crop:
Sugar Cane
Test Product:
Worm Hit Pellets
Location:
Mackay
Plant Date:
28/4/2017
Results:
Visible and noticeable differences were not viewable from the above ground plant mass which is expected as sugar cane is a perennial C4 grass and it relatively slow growing.
Noticeable differences were observed with the root mass however, as viewable in the photos. There was a considerable difference in the amount of root and the vigour and size of the root mass.
“The second photo is of a root system with Worm Hit applied, and this is the best root system ever seen on sugar cane. It would appear that Worm Hit has improved the root systems of the cane where applied. Further studies need to be undertaken to confirm whether this increased root growth transfers into increased yield.”
